Shavuot Service
Tuesday, May 30, 2017 • 5 Sivan 5777
8:00 PMShavuot services will be Tuesday, May 30, 2017, at 8 pm (including the chanting of the Book of Ruth by Martin Mould), and Wednesday at 9:30 am (including Yizkor at 11:30 am). In addition, Adat Reyim follows the tradition of hosting a study session on the eve of Shavuot, called Tikkun Lel Shavuot. Please join us in the Library on Tuesday, May 30, 2017, after services, and bring a dairy or parve item to share. Coffee and munchies will be provided. Since Shavuot commemorates the giving of the Torah on Mount Sinai, Dr Maurice M. Mizrahi will lead a discussion of some of the 613 commandments in the Torah. A brief list of all 613 commandments, as compiled by Maimonides, is attached. Which commandments would YOU like to study? Please let Maurice know at mizrahim@cox.net, and we will cover them in some depth, using Maimonides' Sefer ha-Mitzvot, the Book of the Commandments. Ta sh'ma - come and learn and discuss. No preparation is required and you may leave at any time. To view all 613 Mitzvot Please Click Here
