Adat Reyim follows the tradition of hosting a study session on the eve of Shavuot, called Tikkun Lel Shavuot. Please join us in the Library on Saturday, May 23, 2015, at 9:00 pm. Shavuot commemorates the giving of the Torah on Mount Sinai. This year Dr Maurice M. Mizrahi will lead a discussion of some of the 613 commandments in the Torah. A copy of all 613 will be handed out. We will study selected commandments in some depth, using Maimonides' Sefer ha-Mitzvot, the Book of Commandments. There will also be a reading of a portion of Megillat Ruth by Martin Mould. Ta sh'ma - come learn and discuss. No preparation is required. You may leave at anytime, but the study session shouldn't go past midnight. Please bring a dairy/parve item to share.
