Gail and I would like to welcome you to Congregation Adat Reyim Sisterhood.  We are made up of women that range in ages…anywhere from 20 through 90; range in occupations…some working in the home, some outside the home; and range in life experiences and interests.  And yet, we all come together as the Sisterhood of Adat Reyim.  Join us as we celebrate the bonds of friendship in our Synagogue and our community….


Sisterhood’s mission is to strengthen our connection to Judaism through religious, social, educational, and charitable activities that unite and honor the women of Adat Reyim and their families.  We are an integral part of the congregation through our work in….

 Membership:  We welcome new members to Adat Reyim and give them a sense of community

  • Sisterhood is part of the AR Membership Committee
  • Welcome Baskets are delivered to all AR new members
  • Calls are made to all AR new members
  • Free Sisterhood membership for one year to all AR new members
  • Many small group activities to welcome and include new members
  • Provide varied activities and programs to encourage participation
  • Celebrate and share our simchas at each gathering

 Outreach: We include non-members

  • Book Club  – open to the community
  • Bring a friend, non-member, to Synagogue and/or Sisterhood events
  • Sisterhood is open to all women, not just members of Adat Reyim

Social Action:  We provide opportunities and information for helping others

  • Collect and donate items at each gathering
  • Work with our AR representative at Echo to distribute information

AR Committees:  We are actively involved within AR

  • Pre-School – Purim Carnival
  • Religious School – Chocolate Seder, Israel Quest
  • Religious Practices – Women’s Shabbat and Women’s Seder
  • Adult Education – co-sponsor educational activities  
  • Library – Book Club takes an active role in its maintenance
  • Men’s Club – co-sponsor educational and social activities
  • Finance – donate funds to support and initiate AR activities
  • Fundraising – work with AR Board, AR Executive Secretary, and other committees for the purpose of raising money for Adat Reyim

Communications:  We provide and distribute information through email, KOL, Web page, flyers, etc

  • Write monthly article for KOL, monthly Synagogue newsletter
  • Write welcome for Web page
  • Forward all information about AR to Sisterhood members
  • Make and distribute flyers for all activities/programs
