Learners' Minyan (aka Junior Congregation)
Learners' Minyan is designed for congregants of all ages and all levels of experience. These Shabbat morning services are interactive, participatory, fun and spiritual. The services allow participants to take an active role in leading prayers as well as learning the structure and meaning of the Shabbat service. Students are required to attend at least three services in the Fall and three services in the Spring so that they will become comfortable with their prayer book reading and have a better appreciation for the Shabbat service.
Students who attend Learners' Minyan find it much easier to follow along in class and have less difficulty preparing the prayers for their B'nai Mitzvah. By the end of the year, the students who attend are better able to follow along and better able to lead the service. The benefits your child will gain from attending Learners' Minyan are immeasurable! To name a few: making friends who may not be in their regular Religious School classes, achieving an overall mastery of the prayers which they need in order to advance, and the benefit of fulfilling the Mitzvah of Avodah (worship).
During the school year services generally meet twice a month (the first the third Saturdays) from 9:30-11:00 a.m. During the summer we are meeting the third Saturday of each month.
