Message from the Education Director
Welcome to the 2009-2010 Congregation Adat Reyim school year. We are proud of our commended synagogue school administered through the Partnership of Jewish Life and Learning.
You have chosen Adat Reyim to be the place where your children learn Jewish values and Torah. We take your trust in us very seriously and acknowledge our responsibility in ensuring that Religious School be a safe and inviting place filled with meaningful experiences and Jewish learning.
All parents are encouraged to get involved in family education because we believe that through cooperation, family supporting school and school supporting family, we can teach our children that Jewish living is an important part of all of their lives, and that we want Jewish values to be an important part of the family’s life as well. Because we care about our families, we will try to be sensitive to your needs and desires by encouraging parent involvement, support and feedback.
Adat Reyim strives to help our children develop positive attitudes toward being Jewish and give them a sense of commitment to their tradition and culture. One goal is to enhance their Jewish identification to not only their synagogue affiliation but to further enhance their Jewish identity into the home, by working with the entire family.
There will be many school newsletters, sent home to teach about the curriculum and holidays, which contain activities and family discussion topics throughout the year. Other forms of communication and family education are parent open house where the parent is encouraged to come and meet the teacher and find out more of what is being offered for their children. We also offer parent teacher conferences mid-year to discuss your child’s individual progress in his/her class.
Our classrooms are always open to parents; don't hesitate to visit at any time. It is as partners that we will be successful in instilling a love for Judaism for our children.
We are very proud of our devoted, enthusiastic, and highly qualified teachers who are all available to communicate with you regarding your children and their specific needs. This year we are pleased to welcome some fabulous new additions to our already award winning faculty!
Thank you for entrusting us with your child’s Jewish Education and for welcoming me aboard. I am looking forward to a fun, organized year, filled with innovative learning and Jewish growth.
B'shalom,
Sharone Weizman
