Holocaust Torah Rededication Ceremony

It was originally from a congregation in Sedlcany, Czechoslovakia. That community was destroyed by the Nazis and their Czechoslovakian collaborators. Our congregation chose to embrace this Torah and it has become a vital part of our community. The Sedlcany Torah is now utilized at every Bar/Bat Mitzvah ceremony at Congregation Adat Reyim. It symbolizes our people's will to survive and our remembrance of those who came before us. We pass the Torah from generation to generation, signifying the unbroken chain of Jewish tradition to teach our children Torah.

We rededicated this Torah on the weekend of December 6-8, 2014; to view highlights of this event, please click here. To see highlights of the original dedication ceremony in 1995, please click here.
