Rabbi Bruce Aft
Rabbi Emeritus Bruce Aft
Rabbi Emeritus Bruce D. Aft served as the spiritual leader of Adat Reyim from 1991-2020. The congregation's first full-time rabbi, Rabbi Aft helped the independent congregation nearly double in size and become a respected Jewish institution in the Washington region.
Rabbi Aft grew up in the Chicago area. He is a graduate of the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College in Philadelphia, has an MSW from Temple University, and received his honorary Doctor of Divinity degree.
Throughout the years Rabbi Aft was active with BBYO at their International Leadership Kallah and was a staff person for the March of the Living. He served as President of the Board of Jewish Education of Greater Washington and was a board member for the Jewish Federation of Greater Washington.
