What Makes Our School Special?
What makes our school special?
• We honor the diversity of Jewish life as we explore the building blocks of our heritage. We are an inclusive and welcoming learning community.
• We have a wonderful mix of veteran and new teachers.
• We engage our students and their families in creative and meaningful opportunities for prayer and celebration through class-based family programs as well as opportunities to experience the richness and variety of worship experiences that make Adat Reyim so special.
• We prioritize caring and purposeful relationships between students and strong, fostering strong intergenerational connections.
• We draw upon the talents of our congregation to enrich our curriculum through art, music, drama, and STEM activities.
• We encourage our teens to deepen their knowledge and develop leadership skills by becoming teachers’ assistants and tutors and to participate in the newly proposed Teen program.
• We build strong Hebrew skills through individualized instruction that honors multiple learning styles. We approach the study of Hebrew not only as the language of prayer and Torah but also as a modern living language.
• We engage in meaningful Social Action/ Tikkun Olam so that our students internalize Jewish values as they make a difference in our community.
• We try to make learning experiential and fun. Past activities have included shooting a bow and arrow to learn about "hitting the mark" for the High Holidays, making olive oil from fresh olives, using a 3D printer to make Judaica, and more.
•Monthly "Ruach" sessions with singing, dancing, skits, and other activities.
•Upcoming events include the 6th and 7th grade Immigrant dinner, Parent Listening Circle with the Rabbi, and the Ellis Island NY trip.
