This VIRTUAL program is sponsored by our Adult Education Committee. Speaker: Shy Askenazi, Senior Community Shaliach for the Pozez JCC of Northern Virginia Eretz Yisrael has always been a pillar of Jewish life, a Jewish center, and a place of aspiration. How was this connection formed and re-formed throughout time? How does this connection play a part in Diaspora Jewry lives, and where does tension come in? In this session we will explore these questions, and more, through a theory of five "landscapes" of Israel. About the speaker: Shy Ashkenazi, born and raised in Jerusalem, Israel, is the Senior Community Shaliach for the Pozez JCC of Northern Virginia through The Jewish Agency for Israel. Shy has been working in Israel and Jewish education for the past 14 years in Jewish summer camps and communities, holds a B.A in Education and Theater from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem and is now pursuing a master's degree in Israel Education in GW university.
