Yet 35 years later we opened the door to thousands of Vietnamese refugees fleeing the North Vietnamese Army. Although the two situations will be compared, the thrust of this presentation will focus on Operation New Life, the rescue of those refugees. Dr. Russell B Rayman will describe his experiences as Commander of a Tactical Hospital on Wake Island.
